He wore rough trails smooth for the tender feet of Christian Civilization POSTER PRINT (16"x20") A print of the 1925 photograph of August Lukeman's bronze statue of Bishop Francis Asbury. The 10 1/2' equestrian statue on a granite pedestal was authorized by an Act of Congress in 1919 and dedicated five years later with President Calvin Coolidge in attendance . It is the only equestrian statue of a non-military figure in the nation's capital. The photograph was produced for the Francis Asbury Memorial Association, which raised the $50,000 to erect the statue. Robert Strawbridge House
The First Preacher of Methodism in America lived here. It was made a National Methodist Shrine at the General Conference of 1940 PRINT (10 3/4"x8 1/2") A photograph of the home of Robert and Elizabeth Strawbridge as expanded by their successors on this farm. Methodists rediscovered the home in the early twentieth century and began to make pilgrimages to the site.
